Microsemi Corporation (Nasdaq: MSCC) announced the launch of an outdoor Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) switch, PDS-102GO, which enables connection of two powered devices to the network via Gigabit uplink, up to 30 watts (W) each.
The PDS-102GO is IP66 rated, and it enables remote monitoring and control of the devices' status, including remote reset.
Microsemi's PDS-102GO is optimized for outdoor environments, and for applications such as outdoor wireless LAN (WLAN), outdoor IP camera and outdoor point-to-point (P2P) radio. The switch can extend the reach between the switch and powered devices to a maximum of 200 meters. It also offerslightning protection to the switch itself, and to the indoor network.
The PDS-102GO also features three ports – one for data input and two PoE inputs -, an extended temperature range (between -40 degrees C and +65 degrees C for 802.3af), and a plug and play installation. The PoE switch is remotely managed via SNMP and web, and it supports 10/100/1000Mbps data rates. Also, it includes integral surge protection.
Microsemi's PDS-102GO outdoor switch is now available in stores.
