Remedy Entertainment prepared a small teaser confirming that Quantum Break will launch in 2015.
First unveiled in May 2013 during Xbox One’s reveal event, Quantum Break seemed like a very cryptic title which somehow used time-manipulation mechanics. Now, we’ve got a few more details, and the game seems to be a third-person, story-driven action game intertwined with a TV show developed alongside it.
In a video posted on YouTube (available below), Remedy Creative Director Sam Lake says the studio is preparing to publicly demo key the gameplay in August "I'm very excited to tell you that we'll be presenting Quantum Break's time amplified action gameplay for the first time ever at Gamescom."
The trailer also presents a few brief moments of gameplay, though nothing really indicative of the final product.
The Quantum Break universe seems to be “the fusion” of an episodic Action Game and episodic TV show, and they’ll both be shipped in one package.
“The game is about heroes and the show is about villains.” Says Lake “In the game you play Jack Joyce, in a desperate fight to stop the fracture that threatens to cause the end of time. In the show, in the style of an edgy modern TV series, you follow the schemes and power plays inside Monarch, the corporation that is Jack's main enemy.
"We are working hard to bring you an entertainment experience that is like no other."
Since the game is intertwined with the TV show, it seems that in-game choices will be reflected in a personalized version of the live-action TV Show, whilst the show is set to provide details on game content and snippets on how the game is played.
