At the end of April, in New York, Pelé launched his first mobile gaming app Pelé: King of Football, which is available exclusively, pre-installed, on VONINO tablets and phones, together with a bonus voucher offered by VONINO.
The event included an intimate panel discussion for football fans in the Soho Apple store. Pelé was joined by "Pelé: King of Football" creators, Cosi Productions, and he participated in a Q&A moderated by sports anchor Georgie Thompson and in a live demo of the game.
"This is an entertaining new way to connect with my fans, especially the younger generation of football fans who never got to see me play. I look forward to sharing my life and career experiences in an interactive way with users of this app, and meeting some lucky winners one day," says Pelé.
"We took our love of gaming and sport and combined them to bring an entirely new fan experience to mobile gaming - giving fans the only chance to take on football legend Pelé.", say Josh Blitz and Kane Swerner, Co-Founders of Cosi Productions, "Pelé - King of Football is the first of its kind offering amazing real-life rewards and a visually immersive experience - which we see as the way forward for mobile gaming."
Together with the launch of the game, VONINO promotes the competition "VONINO sends you to 2014 FIFA World Cup, to meet Pelé!". Through this competition they aim to reward the faithful customers of VONINO and to promote the experience of having access to the life and career of Pelé by playing "Pelé: King of Football". All information on the game and how to win the big prize are available at http://www.peleapp.com/pele/competition-terms/.
The "flick-to-shoot" app invites users to follow Pelé's footsteps, finding their way from the backstreets of Brazil all the way to the grandeur of the World Stage. The biographical game is available pre-installed on VONINO devices, but is also free to download on any iOS or Android device. The app features virtual players in 3D, real world prizes including tickets to the World Cup Final in Brazil and access to "The Vault" where users can view original video of never before seen interviews from Pelé himself.
