From Software unveiled ‘Bloodborne’, the official title for the game previously leaked as ‘Project Beast’. The game is a collaborative effort between the Dark Souls developer and Sony, and will be released on PlayStation 4 exclusively.
Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida officially revealed the game during Sony’s pre-E3 press-conference on Monday, and provided a short cinematic trailer, revealing what we should be expecting from the game.
Here’s the official text:
"Face your fears as you search for answers in the ancient city of Yharnam, now cursed with a strange endemic illness spreading through the streets like wildfire. Danger, death and madness lurk around every corner of this dark and horrific world, and you must discover its darkest secrets in order to survive."
For the time being, there is no official release date, just a 2015 window. No gameplay details have been announced yet, though if the trailer is to be believed, the setting is slightly more urban, and the leaked footage showed fire-arms, certain Souls aspects, and a much gloomier feel to the entire game.
A Sony employee who occasionally posts on the NeoGAF forum, said back in January that the game would be "a whole different beast."
