ASUS seems to seriously be expanding its gaming-gear line-up. First, they announced many, many new ROG products at Computex. Then, Strix suddenly popped out of nowhere, and Echelon seems to also bolster its ranks as well, with a new mouse & a mechanical keyboard. Well, we're going to take a look at this update to the Echelon collection, starting with the rodent.
Echelon could be described as ASUS' budget gamer oriented line-up. Until recently, it was only comprised of a gaming headset and a rebranded U7 USB powered sound-card. Well, the company remedied this issue by adding a mech and mouse to the collection. Whilst the keyboard is your standard black with blue backlighting, having only a large Echelon sign slathered across its wrist-rest, the mouse retains the telling camouflage coat of paint.
This is a simple mouse, nothing flashy. It doesn't have any sharp edges like the ROG GX1000, nor does it sport so many LEDs it should be registered as Light-Show equipment. It's just a painted, mid-sized rodent with a very familiar shape.
Overall, it looks and feels like a nifty little mouse, though it most assuredly won't blow your mind.
