Bungie’s Destiny will enter a new beta phase for eight days and a half on PS3 and PS4, and four and a half days on Xbox 360 and Xbox One, publisher Activision Blizzard announced today.
Sony announced during its E3 2014 press-briefing that a beta for Destiny will start on July 17 on PS3 and PS4, and Microsoft announced later that month that the beta will arrive later in July on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Activision gave more specific details today: Whilst the beta will begin at different times for different platforms, it will end across all at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
PS3 and PS4 owners with beta access will be able to play starting July 17 at 10 a.m. PDT, and will be able to keep playing until the end of the period, with the exception of a two-day maintenance period, when Bungie will take Destiny offline from July 21-22. When the session re-opens Xbox 360 and Xbox One players will be able to start playing, come July 23 at 10 a.m. PDT.
Bungie released a new trailer today for Beta. The studio also announced three new collector editions for the game, and an expansion Pass, which will include two post-release expansions for an additional $34.99.
