Ubisoft and developer Carbon Games announced that Airmech Arena, the Xbox 360 free-to-play battle arena game, will enter closed beta on Xbox Live next week.
The closed beta will include all features slated for release within the full game, including single-player, cooperative and competitive multiplayer for teams of two and three players. Xbox 360 owners can sign-up to play of the action real-time-strategy title on the official Airmech Arena site. As expected, you’ll need an Uplay account to play the game. The Closed Beta is going to be available from July 23 until July 29.
The game takes place in a “war-torn future”, where players command “giant transforming robots that fight to capture and protect bases, whilst building armies to take on waves of enemies. As players conquer fortresses, a series of unlockables become available, including new units, pilots and items.
The game is expected to launch on Xbox 360 sometime this summer.
The original AirMech is currently available on Steam in Early Access and as a direct download for Windows and Chrome.
