CD Projekt RED alongside Fuero Games announced the launch of registration for the Witcher Battle Arena Closed Beta, a MOBA for Android devices.
At the time of writing, the two companies have released the first gameplay trailer (available below), showcasing a few abilities, strategies and the ways characters can work together to take down enemies.
The sign-up page is open on the game’s website, and is currently available only to Android users.
The closed-beta is set to test the core functionalities of the Battle Arena, with CD Projekt and Fuero balancing the game out, and fixing potential net-code issues. Players will have access to 8 heroes and two maps playable in conquest mode – The Arena and Korath Deset.
“We are extremely passionate about games, whether they be for PC, console or mobile devices. The Witcher Battle Arena is our take on the MOBA genre and we are really excited at the prospect of sharing it with the gaming community! We highly value fans of The Witcher, and their opinions have always been paramount in helping us develop a great gaming experience.” Said Benjamin Lee, CD Projekt RED mobile games producer.
The beta is focused on Android devices due to the wider range of hardware available. However, Fuero Games and CD Projekt RED are scheduling the game for release sometime in 2014 on Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
