Platinum Games’ Bayonetta 2 receives an official release date on October 24 in North America, Nintendo announced Friday.
The sequel to Platinum’s Bayonetta, is going to be made available on October 24, exclusively on Wii-U, Nintendo has announced. The retail version will come packaged with the original Bayonetta, which was released back in 2009 on PS3 and Xbox 360, and in North America, Europe and Australia in 2010.
The game will also include several Nintendo themed costumes for several iconic characters like Samus, Link and Princess Peach. It will also run at 60fps and feature touch-controls and stylus support.
Bayonetta 2 will feature a two-player online co-op mode currently dubbed Tag-Climax. According to Nintendo’s official statement, "in online quick matches, you can wager halos, the in-game currency that you earn by defeating enemies. You receive a large sum back if you can prove you're a better fighter than your partner. Halos can then be traded in a story mode shop to unlock new techniques, buy accessories and pick up alternate weapon variations."
Bayonetta 2 was initially revealed during the Japanese Nintendo Direct Broadcast, when the company announced the game will come exclusively on Wii-U. The game was built in a partnership between developer Platinum Games, license-holder Sega, and Nintendo as publisher.
