Philippe Morin, co-founder of Red Barrels revealed that the first-preson survival horror Outlast, is getting a sequel.
Speaking with the horror-site Bloody Disgusting, Philippe Morris discussed the success of the game and its Whistleblower DLC, and even future plans, including a sequel to the original.
"After shipping the Xbox One version of Outlast, we took some time to analyse our situation and we quickly realized we had at least another horror game in us," Morin detailed.
"So, yes, we are working on Outlast 2. We're still a small indie studio (twelve people), so we'll need a little bit of time to ship our next game, but hopefully it will be worth it."
"The game will be a survival horror experience and it will take place in the same universe as Outlast, but it will have different characters and a different setting.
"We might go back to Mount Massive Asylum one day, but for now we have new ideas and themes we'd like to explore and we think we're cooking up something special.
At the time of writing, there are no additional details about the Outlast 2 game. The first title was originally released on PC in 2013, then it was later made available on PS4 and Xbox One, and made available for free to PS Plus subscribers.
