DAC and AMP

Fiio has employed the Texas Instruments PCM5142 DAC chip, a 112dB stereo DAC with PCM interface and fully programmable internal miniDSP, which allows the user to play around with the equalizer on a hardware level. On other DAPs (including Fiio's X3), EQ settings  are usually handled by the CPU, which means you won't get the same accuracy.

On the AMP side of things, Fiio has opted to go for the ISL28921 operational amplifier, an ultra-low noise, low distorsion rail-to-rail op-amp that can deliver a 4.4V peak-to-peak output powered by the battery, with a very low noise level.
