Fractal Design sells Define R5 for about $110. For a windowed side-panel there's an additional $10 premium. Overall, the price is more than decent considering the excellent value. R5 makes its steps into enthusiast territory without ramping up the price considerably, and that is a rare thing to do.
Fractal Design's Define series is one of the longest standing case-series on the market today. Each iteration has improved over previous generations, and Define R5 doesn't fall behind. Its construction is solid, and feels like a premium device. There are only few plastic elements, the front panel and the top shiels namely, everything else though is completely metal.
When it comes to clever-design, it's clear the folk at Fractal Design know what they are doing. The airflow is great out of the box, the modularity and customization options are nothing short of impressive. The layout is nothing short of excellent.
Overall, Define R5 is an enthusiast grade case, with excellent build-quality, great flexibility, and impressive airflow and sound-isolation, priced at just above $100.
