Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has finally gone gold, following a number of delays. What this means is that development on the game is complete ahead of then official release next-month on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has originally been slated for release at the end of 2014, then got shifted to February 2015, until it lastly received the current release date, May 19th. It seems that after all this time, Witcher 3 has finally reached a proper release date.
"We worked so damn hard over the past three years to bring you this game," CD Projekt RED studio-head Adam Badowski stated "From the corrupt nobles in Novigrad to ancient monsters lurking in deep forests, to the bustling cities, colorful ports and breathtaking vistas; all the people, all the places"
“We literally spent tens of thousands of hours to turn all that into an adventure that will kick your ass and make you want to come for more. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has gone gold and will soon be yours.”
Now that the development is finally over, CDPR has turned their workflow on the two upcoming expansion-pack sized DLC packs, both of which will add 30 hours of gameplay to the 100+ hour long title.
The game has been made available for pre-order and pre-load on PS4, Xbox One. CDPR is also offering a 10% discount on each platform for customers who will pre-order the game ahead of its May 18 release.
