Mirror's Edge: Catalyst to be released on 23rd (26th for Europe respectively) February 2016 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
When Mirror's Edge was first announced, EA was quick to point out that it wouldn't be a sequel. Now, when we had a proper look at what the game is supposed to be, we finally get a better picture of what they mean. Catalyst seems to be a prequel, or a reboot, or a mash-up of the two. It will try to tell Faith's origin story, complete with running across rooftops, fighting law-enforcement, and ziplining between skyscrapers.
However, EA big news on Mirror's Edge: Catalyst is that it will feature free-roaming, with no levels or loading screens. Instead, the game will give you an entire city to explore, littered with missions, time trials, environmental puzzles and races (involving chasing, running, dodging, climbing and sliding). If distractions aren't your thing, there's also a story campaign to keep you occupied.
There's also a new trailer showing you how the game looks like in-engine, or how DICE would like it to look, since it doesn't appear to contain any actual gameplay footage. Even if it would, it's becoming harder and harder to take E3 footage at face value.
