Genius GX Scorpion M8-610 mouse review - Something familiar

 Value

Right now, I have little to no information about the mouse's MSRP. After all the Scorpion M8-610 has not yet been released, and there is no MSRP for it.

Conclusion

Genius’ M8-610 could be one of the best gaming mice on the market. The build-quality is nothing short of excellent, the ergonomics are great, it’s symmetrical, and not very heavy. With so much going for it, it’s almost frustrating to see it unable to fully deliver on its promise.

Yes, its biggest fault is the sensor, which if replaced with something like the optical PMW3310, would make the overall package a far sweeter deal. The software could also use some expanding, since the UI is intuitive and easy to use, but there are some clear and distinct limitations present.

At the end of the day, it depends on the price. If it’s a budget offering, the M8 has no direct rivals, especially when taking into account the excellent interior construction. However, if its price places it in a high-end bracket, alongside contenders like Mionix Naos 7000, Logitech G502, ASUS Gladius or Roccat Kone XTD Optical, it would have a really hard time keeping up.
