AMD Ryzen 3 1200 & 1300X review – conquering another redoubt

We’ve already seen that Ryzen 7 and 5 changed the balance in favor of red team in terms of performance and I still believe that Ryzen 5 1600/1600X offer the best price/performance ratio in the desktop environment. Zen architecture already showed its power and now AMD is making another step forward in the battle with Intel.

Today AMD launches Ryzen 3, the direct competition for Intel Core i3 family. There are 2 SKUs to see the light, respectively Ryzen 3 1200 and Ryzen 3 1300X. Both feature 4 cores / 4 threads, but only one has the XFR technology.

Aside that, AMD also revealed the new APU family that runs on AM4 socket, which brings a fresh solution for integrated GPU users. I will test them when available.

Ryzen 3 features the same Zen architecture as their brothers, only using 2x CCX modules for running 4 cores. There is no SMT involved, so 4 cores / 4 threads is the offer.
