Totalmovie and OTT Networks today announced that they have merged to form UUX. The new company was created to provide network operators with a one-stop, market ready Internet TV-as-a-Service (iTaaS) platform.
The UUX iTaaS platform is built on the philosophy that initial user engagement with video is increasingly taking place outside of the living room - on one or more connected devices. With its smartphone-based, user interface, iTaaS enables a new approach to discovery, control and consumption of Live and Catch-Up television and Video-on-Demand content across all Internet connected devices and screens.
The UUX iTaaS platform also includes all of the software and services necessary to enable a network operator, whether fixed or mobile, to launch an Internet television service, without having to endure the cost and complexity of traditional on-premise software systems, encompassing traditional software workflows, plus the deployment experience, marketing, billing, content acquisition and other specialized expertise needed to launch a successful TV service.
The company is incorporated in the UK and has offices in London, Madrid, Miami, Mexico, and Sao Paulo. It will be run by a board and management team headed by newly appointed CEO, Lou Schwartz, formerly CEO of the Americas for Piksel Inc. (formerly Kit Digital, Inc.).
"We have launched UUX to remove the pain for Mobile and Fixed operators and systems integrators looking to quickly deploy Internet television services," said Lou Schwartz, CEO, UUX.
"We know that it's a challenge for even the world's largest Mobile operators to successfully launch Internet television services. We've launched UUX to enable any network operator in any territory to be able to build a successful media business. You don't even need to be media business experts; we bring that knowledge and experience to the partnership. As long as you understand your customer, have access to a network and have a billing relationship with the consumer, we provide everything else you need. We look forward to partnering with network operators, systems integrators and content owners that are ambitious enough to want to provide the consumer with the Ultimate User eXperience," concluded Schwartz.
The UUX intelligent cloud-streaming platform provides the capacity to manage and support hundreds of millions of daily Internet connected device interactions for a growing market of 2 billion addressable Internet television subscribers. This cloud TV platform is carrier grade and already provides OTT services to consumers in 40+ countries across the globe.
