The new generation of Haswell-E processors from Intel has been confirmed for release in Q3, 2014. The new processors will include eight cores and support for next-generation DDR4 RAM.
Of course, a news series of motherboard will arise to lead to new CPUs in action, using the new X99 Express chipset with LGA2011 rev3 socket. The current LGA2011 coolers will mostly be compatible with the new CPUs.
Quad-channel DDR4 RAM with 2133MHz frequency will lead to an increase of almost 50% in bandwidth compared to the previous generation.
The new series will contain CPUs with 8 cores and 6 cores, all of them having a TDP of 140W.
Haswell-E will support the latest technologies: 3D Transistor based on a 22nm manufacturing process, Hyper Threading, Turbo Boost 2.0, and PCI-E 3.0.
Top of the range of the new processors (supposedly i7-5960X) will be priced at $ 999.
