Intel introduces Edison, a computer the size of an SD card

Intel chief presented the keynote at CES 2014's main directions towards which technology and the trend of miniaturization is increasing. Intel also introduced the Edison Project, a computer the size of an SD card.




Intel Edison is based on the same Quark SoC that is used for the Galileo project. The processor is built on 22-nanometer technology, has WiFi, Bluetooth and runs Linux, also It can connect to the Internet and access to a dedicated application store.

Intel also confirmed at CES that the major manufacturers of laptops and desktops will launch products with Android and Windows dual-boot system. Touchscreen becomes indispensable and are more and more products that turns the laptop into a tablet.
