AVG Technologies, online security company, unveiled a preview of AVG Zen, an application the helps people secure their online activity.
AVG Zen offers control over users' privacy, protection, and performance. The app connects a consumer's smart devices, keeping it running smoothly and secure, supporting the Internet of Things market for connected devices.
"We live in a multi-connected world and in the near future, we will see more connected devices than people on the planet – some estimates put it at more than 50 billion by 2020. This presents a major challenge for consumers to control the privacy, security, and performance on all their individual devices," said Yuval Ben-Itzhak, Chief Technology Officer, AVG Technologies.
Within the next five years, the average family embracing the IoT is expected to have 10 connected devices in their home. Recent figures have suggested the Internet of Things will open up a market with an economic value-add of $1.9 trillion by 2020.
