SYSmark 2014, the latest version of its benchmark suite that measures and compares PC performance based on real world applications was released today by the Business Application Performance Corporation (BAPCo), a non-profit consortium of leading PC hardware manufacturers and semiconductor manufacturers.
SYSmark 2014 extends the SYSmark family, alongside MobileMark, TabletMark and EEcoMark, which have been widely accepted by IT Managers, PC OEMs, press and analysts worldwide.
The new release is the fastest version of SYSmark to date. A fast installation with a 30% reduced footprint from included USB media installs in just 50% of the time of its predecessor. SYSmark 2014 boasts new and updated applications with benchmark execution from 'start to results' faster than any previous version.
SYSmark 2014 is the fittest release with its revised main GUI interface and 3rd generation auto-configuration tool. The updated config tool executes automatically as part of the benchmark run, dramatically reducing occurrence of setup related errors, and helping to ensure consistent, repeatable results. Reporting is enhanced with improved Full Disclosure Report (FDR) formatting that emphasizes scoring and reference machine comparisons. A new unified 32 & 64-bit codebase exists for both OS environments.
More focused than ever, SYSmark 2014 reflects usage patterns of business users in the areas of office productivity, data/financial analysis and media creation. It is a ground-up development and features the latest and most popular applications from each of their respective fields. Lower minimum system requirements ensure that SYSmark 2014 runs on broader categories of PC systems.
Flexible licensing options are now available for small business to enterprise organizations running 32 or 64-bit versions of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.
For over 23 years the SYSmark family of benchmarks has been used by PC OEMs, hardware and software developers, IT departments, system integrators, publishers and testing labs as well as information technologists and computer industry analysts.
BAPCo's SYSmark 2014 builds upon its predecessors, utilizing the strongest and broadest development team in PC benchmark history. BAPCo's membership represents the breadth of the computing industry and harnesses a consortium of experts.
