Logitech knows all too well how able the G502 Proteus Core is. This is the most expensive wired-mouse the company is selling, currently being priced at $79.99. However, there are many other rodents with a similar (or higher) price-point that don't match the build-quality or overall performance.
You can see how much thought the people at Logitech put into this mouse when they built it. The sensor it uses is probably the best on the market, and there are many a feature (or gimmick, depending on functionality) that are making a comeback. However, that doesn't make it a perfect mouse. Though it might appeal to a fingertip grip gamer, it really is dedicated to someone who want a full-on palm mouse. It's heavy, large, and only caters to right-handers.
I am really looking forward to see what happens with this sensor. Will Logitech be adding it in smaller, ambidextrous rodents, or will other manufacturers get a chance to use it? Only time will tell.
