Paradox Interactive posted an update of Steam, announcing that Expansion pack, Charlemagne, adding new story events, the ability to build new kingdoms, and an additional century of play, will be made available on October 14.
The update post starts with a quote from the medieval scholar Einhard "Charlemagne stubbornly did what he wanted and refused to listen to doctors, indeed he detested them, because they wanted to persuade him to stop eating roast meat, as was his wont, and to be content with boiled meat." Setting the tone for the Middle-Ages type DLC.
Alongside the primary DLC, Paradox also promises 4 minor DLCs, "Period appropriate clothing and portrait packs for the Early Middle Ages will be released for both Eastern and Western Europe and the Dynasty Shields: Charlemagne collection will give appropriate coats of arms. An e-book of the medieval epic “Song of Roland,” will also be released on October 14."
Charlemegne will be made available for Windows, Mac and Linux for $14,99 or regional equivalent. While waiting for the grand strategy to hit the Steam, you can watch the developer overview below:
