SteelSeries Siberia V3 review - Follow-up to V2?

You might think I was a bit harsh on the Siberia V3, but here's the kicker: for its price, all them faults seem to be minor. The headset is priced at $99, which means it has to compete with headsets like HyperX Cloud, Logitech G230, ASUS Strix Pro and Razer Kraken Pro. Out of all these, HyperX Cloud might be the only pair able to challenge it, both in terms of build-quality and sound.

Hidden behind the many little issues mentioned above, lies a great gaming headset. All SteelSeries models I previously reviewed suggest they might have a formula for a closed-back gaming headset that is absolutely fantastic, but they never actually got around to implement it. Siberia V3 is close to the mark, but it misses it just slightly, and the reason it does so, is infuriating.

The headset returns to one of the old gaming-audio tropes, (in this case the dominant bass), that made people veer away from the many-a can on the market in the first place. Still, if you're one who likes a good rumble, then V3 might be right up your alley.

I'd like to thank SteelSeries for providing us with a sample for this review!
