Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac Games has announced an adventure game developed exclusively for the Oculus Rift, Edge of Nowhere.
Insomniac CEO Ted Price took to the stage at Oculus' Press conferene and announced the third-person action adventure game. A small teaser trailer showing a a man crossing through an arctic landscape while being chased by monsters, was also revealed during the event.
"Travel to the frigid reaches of the Antarctic in search of a missing expedition," stated Price. "As you venture deep into the unknown, you will encounter a surreal world which will test you. It will twist you. And eventually it may break you. You're surrouned on all sides by the unexpected, and nothing is as it seems."
Edge of Nowhere has been designed from the ground-up for VR, according to Price. "It's been educational, it's been challenging, but it's also brought that thrill of exploring a new frontier," he said. Despite previously being skeptical of VR, Price says he's now a "believer."
The exclusive is slated for a 2016 release. We'll know more on the game as E3 rolls in.
