Asus GTX 1070 Strix Gaming OC review – on its own way

A new implementation of NVIDIA GTX 1070 is on my desk today. I am talking about Asus GTX 1070 Strix Gaming OC graphics card which is ready to be reviewed. As I’ve already published MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G review, we will have a better picture about the custom cards that can be bought on the market.

We’ve seen that Asus cooler did better than MSI’s on GTX 1080 so we will have a second comparison today, on GTX 1070. MSI used the same PCB for 1080 and 1070. I am curious if Asus did it too. Let’s find out.

The first striking aspect is that Asus has only one 8-pin power connector while MSI has an extra 6-pin one. That is interesting, especially for overclocking. Yet Asus comes higher clocked than MSI.
