Intel announced today the Intel Solid-State Drive 530 Series, a new generation of SSDs for accelerating PC performance. It can easily handle intense multi-tasking needs and will blaze through the most demanding consumer client applications on a wide array of consumer platforms.
Intel SSD 530 Series is specially targeted toward consumer Ultrabooks™ and notebooks, All-in-One (AIO) desktops, next unit of computing (NUC), and embedded designs. The power efficient high-performance 530 Series offers excellent read and write speeds, built in data protection and very low power usage for longer battery life.
The Intel SSD 530 Series accelerates platform performance with sequential read and write performance up to 540 and 490 megabytes per second (MB/s). Random read and write input/output operations per second (IOPs) reach up to 41K and 80K respectively.
Intel SSD 530 Series introduces new low power modes with cell phone-like standby battery life. When the new SSD is coupled with a 4th generation Intel Core based platform, advanced power mode settings reduce power dissipation from milliwatts to microwatts.
To meet a variety of PC applications the 530 Series is available in three form factors – M.2, mSATA and 2.5" – and in 80GB-480GB capacities.
