AMD Radeon R7 R9

There are 3 fundamental characteristics for the R7 and R9 series:

1. GCN architecture – support for DirectX 11.2 and improved energy efficiency. The new Radeon R9 GPU is capable of over 5TFLOPS compute power, over 4 billion triangles/sec, To complete the gaming environment, it benefits from over 300GB/sec memory bandwidth;
2. Ultra HD 4k resolution – AMD proposes a new VESA standard. There are already displays to support this standard. Drivers supports for automatic configuration of popular displays;
3. AMD TrueAudio Technology – a fully programmable audio engine. It will provide a new artistic freedom for developers. It enables you to hear hundreds more audio channels in the game, than previously possible;

The technology will reduce the CPU computation by using the GPU to render the sound. AMD is working with manufacturers to deliver TrueAudio capable headsets and speakers.

TrueAudio will be available only on R7 260X, R9 290 and R9 290X.

Genaudio comes to the gaming scene with the Astound surround technology. It can supposedly create an immersive sound even with stereo headphones, so gamers could have a more realistic backdrop and environment, soundwise of course.
